Julian Assange in his recent writings has expressed that the Internet is no longer only a technical haven, it has acquired the trait of being a political discussion room. He says, “They(people) are being educated, as a result of the internet, about how the world really works in terms of economic flows and political flows and hypocrisy, and they are also being given a power to express their opinions to a potentially very large audience, billions of people.” >>

It was then believed that like the Mayans had supposedly predicted that the world was going to end by the year 2012 because of an apocalypse. While the world was speculating natural calamities to come and wipe out the world, and Hollywood was busy bringing life to that vision by making a whole bunch of apocalyptic movies, subtly, there were conspiracies going on – plots to annihilate humanity not by bombing or wars, although even that has continued even today, some laws, bills and policies were framed to once and for all undo all that the society had evolved into – this time by attacking the nervous system of the society in the early 21st century : The Internet. >>

Assessing the recent times, if one has to identify an epoch that brought with it important consequences that shook up the world, for good, then the arrival of WikiLeaks undoubtedly must be deemed as a crucial occurrence. Until before WikiLeaks, media, diplomacy, war and government policies were perceived in a different light. >>
